Ok, here's the problem. When I try to level up my range, I either receive attack, strength or defence exerience. In this case I don't receive any range experience. As for the magic skill I bought 100 of each runes, and I could not choose the corresponding spell from the spellbook (air strike).
Any suggestions?

mage can only be trained using the magic short bow. As for your second question try using some magical robes while using your spell. Also make sure you haev plenty of the required runes. www.learscape.com
